Panic Stations!
I often compose on trains. Something about the movement and dislocation is helpful. This piece was forced on me by a train, or rather by an oversleeping member of our quartet who missed one. We were on our way to Norwich to do a TV programme and faced with a bag full of music for four people and an ensemble of three, I sat in a corner and dashed this frantic little trio off, finishing it as we arrived.
It's fast and tricky, but quite fun if you play it lightly enough. It's published by Neuschel.
